We’ve been dealing with Snowmegeddon 2016 here in the Charm City ‘Burbs since Friday afternoon. The snow started falling around 2pm and has been falling since. There is something beautiful about snow falling when you’re inside the warmth of your house, snuggled up under a blanket all cozy and just looking out. Dare you tell me to go outside, that’ll be a different story.
In preparation for this weekend’s football playoffs, I made one of my favorite meals this time of year – Game Day Crockpot Chili!
This chili can be made for a family or in larger batches for a big crowd. Start by browning a pound of ground angus beef. When the beef is browned, put it in the crockpot.
Next, saute down some one onion and one bell pepper per 102 lbs. of ground beef. Dump those into the crockpot.
Lastly, add diced tomatoes with chiles, crushed tomatoes, cannellini beans, and pinto beans. Stir to combine.
Let the chili cook on HIGH for 4-6 hours. Serve chili bar style so everyone can make their own!
Chili Bar toppings ideas: shredded cheeses, sour cream, avocado or guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, a variety of hot sauces like Cholula (my personal fav!) and blue corn tortilla chips
