My Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps are just the kind of simple, fresh food that I love to make for a quick meal….and you will too! At the beginning of the year, I drastically reduced the amount of sugar (and carbs) in my nutrition plan, so I had to find a way to recreate some of my favorite recipes.
This recipe serves 4 and contains 25 grams of protein and only 7.5 grams of carbs. For me, this is a win since I’m trying to stay under 50 grams of carbs on most days (100 grams on days of 2 hours or more of training).
What I love most about this recipe is that it can be made in about 20 minutes! Start by whisking the sauce ingredients.
Once the sauce is combined, bring it to a boil over high heat and continue cooking until it starts to get thick.
Then, add the peeled and deveined Wild Caught Shrimp. Cook until pink. You can also grill the shrimp or broil them if you want.
You can serve these sweet and spicy shrimp in a variety of ways – tacos, over rice, in a stir fry – but I like them best in a lettuce wrap. I love the crunch of the vegetables against the sweet and spicy flavor of the shrimp.
