When in Maryland…..
Steamed crabs with Old Bay and a Jumbo Lump crab cake are the two foods most associated with Maryland. When I first move to Maryland after graduate school, I couldn’t understand The Hubby’s families love for picking crabs. It’s just too much work for me. To this day, I probably don’t pick more than 4-5 crabs at a crab feast. I know, sacrilegious in these parts!
However, I have been known to throw down on an amazing crab cake platter. There are a few local places I love – Greenmount Station and G&M are 2 of the best!
I was looking for a low carb way to to have the flavors of crab dip and a crab cake with macaroni and cheese, but I didn’t want all the carbohydrates. So, I steamed up some cauliflower to use as the macaroni and made a traditional crab dip base.
The result was this very decadent Crab Cauli-Mac & Cheese! Take this to your next family potluck and I guarantee you’ll come home with an empty dish!
